Needing a little more free travel in the clutch, and this one has the brake booster in the rod from the pedal. Do you adjust the upper nut closest to the pedal or the nut closest to the clutch. Someone told me once and I should write it down..... something about how the booster works, either upper or lower has to return to a certain position?
Thanks

You adjust the one in front of the booster. The one next to the pedal should have just a very slight amount of play to assure booster is fully retracted when pedal is at rest.

Of course when you adjust free travel that changes dump valve and transmission brake adjustment also.

Like Pete said he one aheaad of the booster , Now keep in mind here clutch free play on a 66 sires is only 5/8th of and inch from the back edge of the pedal at the arrow to floor plate , not much but that is what it is , Then ya need to go to the trans brake and get it set and then comes setting the dump valve , you can mess around tryen to massure it or ya cab dig back thru the archives and read on how i set them , much faster and way easier ya just need another warm body .
