M quitting-intermittent -------update

It is funny how you miss something. My M is what I consider perfect with new engine, axle bearings all new electronics, 12 volt and lots of other stuff. But
in all my updates and overhauls I never even considered a new push/pull kill switch. After I posted my problem several good ideas were floated, but Charlie M
suggested the switch. Since that was the easiest place to start I wiggled it and pinched the wires the next time the tractor tried to quit. Varoom!!! Just
wanted to let everybody know how it worked out. Thanks, Ellis

I had to replace that switch on my M. After market type. Doesn't have the same appearance as the original, but it works.

I've had my share of experiences with push/pull switches- includes wires rusting off, pulling the entire button out of its holder and having a bad spot on the switch. Glad it worked out for you.

Problem like that is why I say hot wire it. If it works hot wired then the problem is from the coil back to the battery. If does not fix it then the problem is in the distributor
