Louisville Farmall A - Worth Anything ??

Is a Farmall A (serial 210,9xx) that was built in the Louisville plant worth anything more than a Farmall A built in Chicago? This tractor does not have provisions for adding touch control hydraulics. Nothing more than an A but built In Louisville. All the parts are there but it needs a rebuild. Trying to decide if I should sell to a collector and find another one running.

you mean there is not a place on the block for the pump which would mean the block has been replaced as all the blocks from there had a place for the pump starting in 47 even the later blocks used on the Bs had it.

I believe they some had that on them but I m not convinced that ALL Louisville models had it. If this tractor had the engine block swapped, it would also mean the torque tube bellhousing was swapped too. A possibility but not likely. According to my research; there were about 20,000 tractors made in Louisville before the Super A came out. This one would have been about 10,000 in on that line.

the torque tubes are the same bolt pattern and have nothing to do with engines place for the pump. What is the cast code on the engine. Blocks for hy pumps were made before the tractor was built also the C used the same block. You didn't say if your block has the place for the pump.

Serial # is for the A BUILT IN Louisville in 47 and falls in line with the A,AV B,BNs built also in 47 in Louisville which also built in Chicago in 47. Louisville tractors started with 200,000 and their run ended with #s 220,000 or so till the SA and C started in late 47 so your tractor is nothing special.

it does not have a place for a hydraulic pump. I will try to get there casting codes
