560 d starter to 450?

Curious if a starter from a 560 diesel will
work on a 450 diesel

Yes some of the 450D and 560D used the same starter number and the 560D used the same starting gear on the flywheel as the 450 and before diesels.

If you really want to spin it, get an IH 806 or later diesel starter. The motor is a bit longer for a bit more power. I have one on my 560D and it cranks much better than the original ever did. The solenoid nose will need turned, but there are hidden bolts that allow that fine.
