Im working on a w9 that has been converted to propane. I temporarily hooked the regulator/vaporizor to a 20lb grill tank just to get it
running. When i turn it over it pops like it wants to start but doesnt. It has a mag on it. I am wondering if possibly the mag isnt
supplying enough juice while cranking to actually run the tractor? The manifold is also cracked so possibly sucking air not propane?
I look forward to some advice with this project. Thank you.

remove the plugs and check the spark. got to start someplace. myself I go right through everything , hit the starter and she is running.

The mag is probably light on spark for an LP. However, if it's popping then you're getting something lit.

The regulator will need some vacuum signal to tell it to open up and deliver enough propane so the if you have a cracked intake then it could be an issue. Some regulators have a primer button (like JD) that you can use during starting. It depends on what regulator type they used for the conversion.

I tried to start my 806LP off a 20 pounder to move it around after paint before i set the main tank on. what i ran into (after i figured it out) was the OPD valve in the 20 pounder was actually activating due to the volume requirement once the engine starts to call for vapor. no matter what i did i couldnt overcome that and ended up pushing it around with the skidloader before i set the main tank back on it
