does an 656 have the same axle diameter as an M. got me a 656 today and it has press steal centers. I have an extra set of cast centers on a M parts tractor. thinking about changing them out if their interchangeable.

Also, got me a set of 455 4 row cultivator mounted on my M. what a beast and it only took me 44 years to do it...

The axles are the same diameter. There may be differences in the width, depth, and maybe number of key
ways. The steel disk wheels on 656 were 15x34, for 16.9x34 and 18.4x34 tires. The six spoke cast wheels
from an M need a DW-12 or 14x38 rim for a 13.6x38, 14.9x38, or 15.5x38 tire. And the steel disc wheels
took "Special" wheel weights, the common C/H/M wheel weights that fit EVERYTHING don't fit the steel
disk 656 wheels.

It will work but would look better with cast
centers from a 450. What's wrong with the
steel press ones?

bass, where are you located? My father-in-law is looking for a set of 9-bolt hubs for his M. Would you consider selling the hubs and pressed steel wheels?

The cast centers for an M will not fit the double bevel rims that you would want on a 656. Need cast centers from a 450 to accomplish that.
