cannot find timing marks on the pulley. i am ready to set valve lash. what can i do to get started?

also, the hand crank that i have for c farmall will not fit 140. seems that the shank that goes into the pulley is too long. hmm
i suppose that i can grind off some of it.

On the flywheel very bottom a hole Hard to find unless on TDC #1 Jim

thanks, my work is cut out for me.

i think that i will try to get # 1 , up on compression and get close.

Very easy to see TDC on these engines through the spark plug hole. Put your thumb over the #1 hole and rotate until air starts pushing past your thumb. Immediately remove your thumb and shine a light down in. Continue turning until the piston stops coming up and starts going down. Wiggle back and forth until you find the very top. Takes longer to explain than to do.
