560 fast hitch

I just replaced the hoses that connect the fast hitch to the rear of the tractor and can not get the fast hitch to move. I assume I have air in the system. I have tried loosening connections and even removing the connections and can't seem to make any difference. Is there a trick I am missing? Yes, I am moving the fast hitch lever as I loosen and remove connections. Everything worked perfectly before the new hoses.

Is this an originally equipped tractor or is this one you have added the hitch to. If it was working before it should work now in either case. Original equipped, the valve that has linkages could have failed. Does the hydraulic sound like it is going on pressure when moving the lever?

There is (likely) a check valve that has tripped preventing flow to the cylinder. This prevents a failed hose from dropping the raised implement in transport or? Look at the hoses you took off to see if there were restrictors in the fittings. Jim

I purchased this 560 in August. Who knows how many owners it's had. It appears to have had the fast hitch on it it's entire life. One hydraulic hose was leaking so decided to replace them both. When the lever it fully forward the hoses do not vibrate but when moved the hoses vibrate and a hydraulic noise is heard.

I did not have the hitch completely lowered when I disconnected the hoses, so perhaps that is a problem. I did not see any restrictors in the old hoses but a check valve would make sense as when I remove one hose there is a very poor amount of fluid moving where as the other hose has good flow. The fluid needs to be changed badly and I will do that tomorrow.

If original it should have a check valve mounted inside of the seat base bolted to the manifold block from the front of the tractor. Original tractor equipped will not have a double to single selector shaft on the valve to get out of position. To override the check valve during use you will have to push the lever far enough to go on pressure to get the poppet to move off the seat, so how far are you moving the lever? Might need to go all the way of travel both ways. Where you leave the lever it should stay.

Nothing has worked so far. I talked to my local IH mechanic who suggested tapping on the poppet valve inside the toolbox. He also suggested moving the sensing on the lower left hand of the fast hitch but neither has helped yet. He really thought the poppet? valve inside the toolbox is the culprit perhaps I have not tapped enough yet.

Lets try this: When you look at the back side of the tool box where the hoses go in, there is cap plugs in the ones(maybe both) that will allow straight through flow, move the hoses that go into the tool box to the left position top for top etc. which will bypass the check valve, both should be on the left part of the manifold. Then try it again. I am concerned the valve for the hydra touch might be the problem but this will bypass the check. Check valve is to keep the hitch from dropping when the valve gets worn or overnight. The check valve is held onto the manifold block by just two bolts that hold it to the side of the tool box so it can be removed fairly easy if necessary.

Roger, I moved hoses as per your directions and it did not help at all. About then it just hit me. Do you supposed I criss crossed the hoses when I hooked them up? What else could it be? I switched hoses and what do what know everything thing worked . Old age is creeping up on me and it is showing. Thanks for your help but everything is under control. Luane

Yes,it arrived a couple days ago. Looks great. I straightened it out today and installed it. Do you have an idea what the shipping was? I'd like to reimburse you for at least that much.
Really appreciate the help. Luane

I am not worried about it. I should have looked for a cheaper place after I found out but was short on time for getting to work but it was just short of 35 which I felt was high.

I need to clean out my garage...This is last year, still have the tractors and for the most part are fully functional. I just have to make them better now.
