Farmall C Weight Range

Tractor Date web site shows the weight range for a Farmall C to be 3,000 to 5,000 lbs. How can there be that much weight difference in factory options? Should it way around 4,000 with full wheel weights?

Some only run 1 set or wheel weights, some think 3 are too few, then you add liquid loaded tires. The weight of tractors can vary greatly.

Keep in mind the minimum weight really is the MINIMUM weight. Tractor is stripped of all options and accessories, has the smallest tires on it.

I've seen C's stripped down to make weight for the 3500lb pulling classes. There isn't much left but the wheels and the engine.

I have a 53' that I pull in the 3500 and 4000 pound classes. I weigh 220 lbs. My problem is mine has the fast hitch. I have an adjustable bar that I put in place of the hydraulic cylinder and I remove all the linkage that I can. I also have 2 45 lbs. wheel weights on the front. I drain the fuel tank of all but about 2 gallons of gas. Gas weighs about 7 pounds a gallon. It depends on the scales you are weighing on as they are never the same from one to the other. Some pulls I go to will also give you a 100 lbs. To make the 3500 lbs. class, I have had to remove one of the front wheel weights. I have 4 140 lbs. rear wheels that I put on to pull in the 4000 pound class. One pull that I went to, I had to run with one of those left off because the scales were running heavy. There are a lot of times that I will run the 4500 lbs. class and pull light. You never know what is going to happen. Besides the $10.00 hook fee, you are just pulling as a hobby for fun, right?
