Your problem is likely in No. 32 or 19 on the attached CaseIH parts page. To test the lift cylinder number 32 you can place the load on the hitch like your haybine. Then determine which hose is pressured when the hitch is being raised by feeling the hoses while cycling the hitch up and down. Once this is determined you can place a jack under the hitch to hold it up. You are going to disconnect the hose to the cylinder and at either end and cap or plug it. This I believe will require a special fitting since they are shown to seal with an o-ring. Once capped lower the hitch with the jack and then wait the 30 min. Etc. to see if it drops. If so the seals in cylinder 32 are leaking by and need replacing. This is a fairly simple task if you have moderate mechanical skills or you can pull it out and take it to a shop. If it holds the problem is in No. 19. Which requires someone else to chime in to tell you how to fix it. That block contains check valves of a sort that can be forced open by activating the hydraulic control valve. This is so the oil to the cylinder can be stopped leak by free. The control valves themselves rely on precise machining of lands on spools to match the valve body ID. If these wear they tend to no longer be leak-by free so the check valve system is used to prevent leak-by. Lastly the pump has no bearing on your issue. Raising slow or not lifting heavy loads are general symptoms of a bad pump.

Thank you very much for your kind post. It has not been a major issue but it is there. I will study this a little more tonight. A Gardner Denver is calling me right now. Slightly off topic but these 460s of mine are a mechanics tractor. They will teach you a lot and often more than you want. Finally got the overhauled motor to run right after some dumb mechanic did something wrong long ago and was finally discovered a year or so later. We don't want to insult mr and Mrs Handsome Devil, so we won't mention the dumb mechanics name. Again thank you. John.
