B-275 hydraulic filter question

Hi all, thanks to Bob and Company have recently completed repairs on a B-275 control valve. I have had to order an aftermarket hydraulic suction filter as the fine mesh on the original filter had deteriorated too much to reuse.. it appears the groove in the new filter is a bit too shallow and makes the O-ring protrude too far out and will not allow the filter to seat.. I have a friend with a wood working lathe and have thought if it could be chucked true to put a file edgewise in the groove and file off some material and or possibly sand down the O-ring itself but not sure how to do that... any thoughts or suggestions on this would be appreciated Thx Danc

Not only do o-rings come in many diameters, they also come in many thicknesses. It's probably easier to fit a different o-ring than to carry out the mod. A visit to an auto supply shop would suffice.

hx for the advice sir had not thought of that..I had swapped the o-ring off the original filter and it did not work either so I assumed the worst.. parts store will be first stop today... thanks again

Thx dharma your o-ring suggestion worked out so I was able to install the filter.. the hydraulic piston repair worked though I still have an oil leak on the control valve...some if not all of the leak ls coming from the isolation valve will see if parts are available..thx again danc
