Going to be selling my dads super A that he neglects. He put water in it instead of antifreeze and the engine is stuck. What sort of price should we be asking for it?

Did the tractor go thru a freeze? If so, the water froze and cracked the block. If there wasn't a freeze, then the water shouldn't have hurt it. Pull the spark plugs, add some penetrating oil, let it soak for several days, then try to get it to move.

A tractor with a frozen engine is generally only worth a fraction of the value as a parts tractor.

Sorry to hear.....

A tractor with a stuck engine is basically worth scrap value. It is worth more for parts, if you know which parts to pull off and try to sell, but that is a hassle.

If you want to get as much for it as possible, get it running. A decent, running Super A, with tires that hold air is worth a lot more than scrap value.

These are very simple tractors with simple engines, you don't need to be a master mechanic to fix most things on it if you have any mechanical aptitude at all.

Another thing that has to do with value is where your at. I've seen scrap tractor sell high in one area and cheap in other areas

The assertion that "someone will fix it up like new" is a solid maybe at best, but probably not true.

Even so it does not make the tractor any more valuable. Super A's are common and bring about $1500 for a running example that needs some work (they all do), tires, paint, etc.

Non runner with a loose engine that looks like it might run you're looking at $700-$800

Stuck engine with a possible cracked block, no more than $500, and it's for sure a parts tractor.

I say that is probably very true!

If it was somewhat near to me I might be crazy enough to think about it.

If you don't want to advertise you actual address at least narrow it down to "Eastern Ohio" of something of the nature.
