Cub Oil Pressure relief valve stuck..HELP

We are getting oil to come out where the gauge is but very little, Have changed oil pump and still no increase in pressure, we are thinking the relief valve is stuck, can't get to come out, spring comes out ,, Is there a trick to getting it out. We have even put a working gauge from a working tractor and it shows nothing.

Putting oil pressure into the gallery with a small cheap Drill pump into one of the ports, or the gauge port, Can do three things Fill the oil gallery to prevent a spun bearing, prime the pump, and push out the relief plunger. (best I have). Jim

No comment on relief valve, but have a question about the oil pump. Did you set up the pump according to manual? Clearance between gears, block, and pump housing are controlled by the gasket thickness. Had a friend that went through 2 short blocks from Central Tractor because of pump not set up proper.

For sure you need to get that regulating valve out. It could easily be stuck open and be the cause of your lack of oil pressure. Take a tap that will grab hold inside the valve. Won't hurt a thing as inside of valve is just for spring to go into.

I would take a measurement of how far the valve is down inside the bore and that way you can determine if it was actually stuck part way up in the bore.
