International 2404 Bearing 382954R91

Hey there, I have an old 2404. The power steering unit up top is leaking like crazy presumably due to a broken bearing (Part number 382954R91).

I've been looking and am unable to locate a replacement. Does anybody know a good place to look for this part?

Case doesn't seem to make them anymore.

Case/IH and others don't usually make their own bearings, they are made by a big bearing company. If you can get a number off the broken one or take it out and take it to a NAPA or similar auto parts place they can probably match it. They may be able to match it from IH number depending upon the store and how hard they want to work for you

Appreciate the info. I'll see what my local NAPA can do. Unfortunately I only have the broken outer race and do not see any numbers of any kind on it.

Uhhhhm, Saint.... bacon? Alrighty! Anyhow, 382954R91 crosses over to an Eaton number, 21205, according to the IH bearing bible.

IH didn't make the "steering unit", it's a Char-Lynn (now Eaton) "Torque generator".

The bearing you need is in the "steering column adapter" part.

Look it over and see of you can find a part number stamped into it somewhere.

Then, you can contact an Eaton Hydraulics distributor for the part.

I've seen good reviews about the company linked below, NOT sure if they would be able to deal with anything that old, if not you might get lucky and they may know who to contact.

Thanks so much for the info. I haven't yet been able to find the part for sale. Still looking! Most of what I've found about Eaton 21205 is a circuit breaker.

Does anybody know Which Torque generator this might be? I might be able to locate the bearing based on that.

There is a complete rebuilt 4 port Char Lynn hand pump on ebay right now for a 404/2404. Looks like if you search for "Farmall power steering hand pump" it will come up on your search.

Also, check out ebay auction #153497055334, he must have a source for these bearings, wonder if he'd sell just a bearing?

I've got one of those units, if I can figure out where it's "inventoried" I'll take it apart and see if I can ID the bearing.

Wow Thanks! I super appreciate the effort.

Honestly there's probably a fair amount of money to be made selling these things if you can figure out a source.
