Farmall C transmission noise

I have a 49 Farmall C I bought that was apart. I have it all back together for some time now and have notice a clunking sound from the transmission while moving in 1st gear. It is only when in 1st gear the rest are all quite. Any ideas where to start to look at to find the issue and what it might be?

My noise turned out to be in the wheel to axle clamp.

The diagram I have linked to is super C, but the same. Gear tooth broken off or chipped would be my guess.

I had a clunker on mine three of the of the lock washers broke on the wheel axle clamp allowing it clunky.
I would think it would do int all gears if it were a wheel clamp 🗜 .
I think something in the root ofthe the first gears .take differential cover off and investigate. Don?t run like that . Very costly to fix if it break s
