Well, I opened up the hyd/tans fill hole, put a flexible funnel in the hole and the flexible part disconnected and fell in the reservoir. I can't see it. It looks like to take the lid off (which looks like it is about 3 ft long) is about a million bolts and disconnects.

I guess I will try a drain camera and a flexible grabber. As I have said a few hundred times....I can't believe I did that........ Any other ideas?

I would try an Earth magnet on a stick if your lost piece it metal.
I rob them out of old electric tooth brush. They will easily pick up a hammer.

Go fishing with a grabber tool,it will be on the bottom I except. You might try to float the funnel in a bucket of
water,if it floats so will the extension. Just a thought.

Or the opposite, if I drain all the oil, is there a filter screen that can come out to give access to the heart area?

I haven't changed the filter yet, but if I remove it would that give me access to the transmission chamber?

Well, I drained the oil and I saw the funnel neck down under the gears and then bumped it to the other side of the gears...sitting on the bottom. Not gettable. I read other threads where people left it in, it eventually ground to pieces and got the majority of it with a Hyd filter change. I might as well try that. I am not sure I would ever be able to get the whole housing cover back on correctly.
