Is there anyway to wire in a kill switch on this old magneto??? The only way to turn off the tractor is to turn the gas off and wait 5 minutes.... x

i have never saw, but a few mags. all that i can remember had a metal bolt, which had a kill wire attached.

F4 mag should kill when turned all the way counter clockwise, if not may need to bend the grounding tab on the points. There is a pin the tab should contact when turned
back all the way, I have had to tweak about every new set of points I have put in one of these afterwards to get it to kill when it should.

On my F-20s I have done exactly that. Here's how:
1. Take the cover off the mag.
2. Drill a small hole the size of 12 gauge wire in the back side of the mag cover near the condenser.
3. Feed a 12 gauge wire through the hole and attach it to the condenser.
4. Reassemble and reinstall the mag.
5. Mount a "One-Wire" kill switch within reach of the driver.
6. Connect the wire from Step 3 to the kill-switch.

There was an option for a magneto short circuiting device for the F4 magneto. It is listed in the F12 parts catalogue on page 101. There is, of course, no diagram. The part number for the entire attachment was 30039 D.
It consisted of:
Breaker Housing Cover, Breaker Cover Packing, Short Circuiting Spring and Insulator, Short Circuiting Terminal Insulator, Short Circuiting Screw, But, Washer and Bushing.
I have never seen one on a magneto,
