I pulled the drain plug yesterday and the plug has no round flat spot to hold a gasket(oil pan) The two flats for a wrench are cut all of the way to the threads. Right or wrong?

Wrong. The parts pic shows a gasket and flanged plug. I would be careful to look at the threads in the pan. someoun could have re-tapped them to a bigger size, or a pipe thread. Then all bets are off. Jim

I seem to think the drain plug is the same as the hydraulic fill plug, both of mine have a copper washer for a gasket.

It takes a 7/8 open end wrench with only two flats. The copper washer fell apart when I took it out. It s just not right, but it looks factory.

I just went out and looked at the C and SC. The C has what appears to be a pipe plug. The SC has a hex plug with straight threads and a copper washer. I just changed the oil in the SC the other day so I can say definitively that the copper washer is there.

Interestingly, the oil pans are different between the two. The C oil pan has a concave feature (dent) in the front just in front of the drain plug. The concave feature was stamped not the result of an accident. The SC pan is rounded just like pans typically are.
