Hello guys, trying to figure out what s going in here. I can t for the life of me remember if my late father, had this Super M converted over to 12V, the generator is Stamped 12, 12 volt ignition coil and yet the part that s stumping me and I won t attempt to put power to it until I know for sure, the Long battery cable that goes to the frame, has the larger eyelet in the cable end like it fits the larger Positive post on the battery, whereas the battery cable that comes off the Starter button at the instrument cluster has the smaller lead end like it wants to fit the negative of the battery.

Also, the short wire going to the side of the Distributor, should that not go to ground/negative terminal of ignition coil ??

Really appreciate the help.

Thank you

A positive ground 12v system is kinda normal. Many had that until alternators were introduced in the 70s. The Super m was 6v positive ground
when purchased. The diesel Farmalls were 12v positive ground. The distributor matches the battery ground. Thus if there is a Positive ground
battery, Which is established here, the coil positive is attached to its ground (through the points), and it is supplied from the key with
negative. Jim

You know you?re stuff Jim, and truly appreciate your reply and knowledge shared. I feel better going back out to the driveshed to try it
