IH #901 White Paint

MY current project means finding some IH #901 paint in an aerosol can. Where can I find one? Or another brand (PPG and the like?) that would be a near match. Realizing they have a big selection I will not use Rustoleum for this project.

Wayne, another option is have your local auto paint shop mix it and put it in an aerosol can for you. Our paint shops up here will do that.

My CC #70 needed #901 white, my local auto paint shop couldn't find the formula, so handed me a binder with about a thousand shades of white, we, SON & I picked a white that was a limited use trim white used on Ford Mustang GT hood stripes in the early 2000's. It was amazingly close to #901. I had looked at the paint chips Ken Updike posted on IHCubCadet.com before I went to the paint shop.

You can buy a quart and get the reducer and hardener if you want to use hardener, and a gravity feed High volume low pressure paint gun for $15 at harbor freight. I've had several, the plastic paint cup doesn't like lacquer thinner so I get a stainless steel cup version, could have worked great, one would not spray anything at ALL, they cheerfully replaced that one. You can clean the detail guns with less than a quart of solvent/thinner.

Nason #4976ID acrylic enamel. Its a 69 ford color called new lime. I checked it in my old paint book and its a perfect match.

Check the Cub Cadet forums. They have, or at least they used to have, the paint codes for all 3 IH White colors for two or three different paint brands posted over there.
