1981 IH1086 three point hitch won't lower

I have a 1981 IH1086 with a closed hydraulic system. I bought this tractor 6 weeks ago. I had my 3 point hitch in the raised position for about 30 hours, I was cutting and bailing. The back of my top hydraulic plate broke, where the bell crank pushed through. We ordered a salvaged top hydraulic plate with internal parts and the motor priority valve on top. After replacing, we tested it out and the arms of the three point hitch raised while the lever is in. the lover in position. We have checks out a couple of other sites and they suggested our linkage was positioned incorrectly. Through photos we have confirmed that the linkage is correct. Why is it raising when the lever is in the lovering position??

From reading the posts on that topic, the follower on the draft control are might be behind the lever it needs to be in front of. Accessible through the top link mounting hole. Jim

Could you tell me more? This was the way the top hydraulic plate (salvaged) came. Do you have any photos or manual pages. My manual, the photos are too dark to make out detail.

I would guess that it just flipped half a turn when some linkages were relaxed when working on it. May be difficult to get it done through the rear. I can't put a picture up here from my tablet.

That is what we are trying to figure out. Somehow the bell crank made contact with the back of the cover. Nothing was connected to the three point hitch and nothing was forced by backing into anything, we make sure the three point hitch can not come in contact with the tires or the implement we are pulling. I was driving straight at the time pulling a baler.
