Slight miss on 53 Super H

I have a slight miss in my 53 Super H. I can hear it through the exhaust pipe and is present at both an idle and higher RPM?s. The tractor is recently tuned and has just had the head replaced due to antifreeze in the oil. I don?t think there is anything going on with the new head. Coil possibly?

Coil issues would be erratic, or not run. Check the compression to assure it is within 5 PSI on a new rebuilt head. If you can determine a particular cylinder that is doint it by pulling spark plug wires one at a time, it might narrow it down. If compression is good, It might need to be operated under load for a bit to become normalized. Jim

start with #1 cyl. and see if it will run with only that plug wire on it by removing the other 3. do this for each cyl. that engine will run on one cyl. for each cyl. if things are in order. if it stops on a cyl. you found the problem. could be as simple as a bad plug. or just hook an engine analyzer up to it . it will show you the problem. AND are the valves set correctly, I don't know as cant see them and you did not mention valves being set. pretty short story you gave with little info.

I agree with rusted, check the valve adjustment, and then troublshoot. When you find the bad cylinder switch the plug and see if the problem goes with the plug.
