Hi all, have enclosed pic of two different IH B-275 hydraulic lift pistons, the one on the left coming out of the tractor I have been using for approx 22 years....Brit made serial#22968/1960.I'm not a experienced mech but believe the broken part to be the oil ring and or retainer, there must be more of it in the reservoir I haven't found yet but can't tell if it sits on top of the shorter ring or how it gets installed...The piston on the right appears intact and I'm. wondering would it be wise to use it? It came of a parts tractor serial#24835....other than the oil rings they appear the same..Have had this tractor 22 years as well, so not much use on it. Thanks to jimb2 in this forum have located parts needed for another repair and so could order an oil ring though not sure which I would get..does anyone know if the piston needs to be dismantled to install the oil ring? Thx one and all
