If you ever have the need to tow your A to start it, do not attach you strap or chain around the front axle or steering gearbox castings. Serious damage.can happen to those brittle parts. We pull them with a chain or strap attached to the rear hitch and run it forward under the belly of the tractor to the pulling vehicle.

Driving that tractor with a faulty weld (because it is a discovered issue) could result in law suits. The cost of a different block, and a gasket kit
as well as the time to redo it is worth it, Real repair of that type of single point failure break involves disassembly of the engine and preparation
for the weld, preheating and welding by a professional, and probably line boring the block before reassembly. A process that is perfectly acceptable
for a piece of equipment that has high value, and no possibility of replacement. Jim

Good advice. Thank you.. the
repair had 2 different colors of
red paint and tons of grease on
it. Looks like a really old
repair. I checked all the way
around and it only appears to be
welded around that one spot.
