I bought a new bushing/bearing that goes on the shaft that comes out from the flyweights. I put it
all back together and started it and the same thing happened, that is, the racing of the engine. I
dont know whether to buy another end cap and try that, or have someone come out to see if they can
make it run right. Whats your thoughts??

Are you sure you have all of the pieces installed between the weights and the thrust bearing?

Also, are the "fingers" on the weights that contact the "governor bushing" (24) and the "fingers" on the fork intact?

Download a complete governor diagram from caseih and make sure you have all springs in place and adjusted properly.
Better yet, get a manual.

Did you have the carb apart. If so did you manage to get the throttle shaft upside down. It could be trying to open it when controlling speed. (just an idea) Jim

Gene, theres something to that. When we reenstalled the end cap, the arm attaching to the rod attaching to the carb was way too far towards the radiator. I pulled it back and hooked it up. NOW I KNOW, that to get it to idle after it topping out I have to pull the rod forwards. I was going to try to take loose and off the arm, move the stem it fits on as forward as I could and reeattach it. I suppose I could try out your idea first of taking the rod yoke forward and trying it. Thanks.
