Hello a friend has a 1066 that has fuel issues acted like filter replaced them ran fine, came to state it won't start, bleed and primed filters it will start , shut it down , won't start , it has good flow from tank to filter housing,( years ago I had a tractor that fuel line was plugged and acted the same way ) removed line from filters to pump seamed to evidence of algee in line (green paste ) cut open used filters very clean but paper elements had a green tint to them , lots of flow at bleed screw on top of housing when it is running , it gets air into the system some how , any ideas as what it could be ?? thanks Bryan

Hole in line from tank, plug in fitting to filters even if not fully plugged will cause your issue as the engine will starve for fuel and suck air someplace. Air leaking into system at a fitting plugged return line or fitting.
Is oil rising in crankcase as it could also be leaking there around shaft to timing gears allowing air in.

There is the check valve on the backside of injection pump it comes apart and it will float in the hydraulic head of the pump The pieces will yet above oh below metering valve when they rebuild though they do away with it they install a new elbow and orifice I would take the pump off have yet overhaul I Have sane this many time it is on the early 1066

Hopefully you don't have a seized hydraulic head by now, that can happen IF the pump has the original type return elbow that timmy mentioned when that valve falls apart inside..
