Decals

I would like your ideas about the best decals to use: Mylar or vinyl die-cut. Obviously the die-cut ones are quite a lot pricier. But they look pretty sharp. Which ones are easier to apply? Thanks. David

My vinyl ones have faded and chalked over. They were put on in 03. The Mylar I put on my other M in 96 and the the Cub in 04 are just fine. The ones on the Cub were sitting on a shelf in the guys barn for years before I put them on.

I installed vinyl decals on a John Deere A back in 1996. I still have the tractor and the die cut decals look like brand new. Depends on who you buy them from.

Hey, Dave!!! Nice to hear from you. Haven't been to Red Power in a few years. The old group has changed a lot, fragmented and gone various ways. I'm still close with a few of the guys. We get together even socially. Was RPRU in Bloomburg again, like it was in 2007? Where is it planned for next year? I assume you're still living in the same place, as I am.

Brian...who makes the best vinyl die-cut ones, in your opinion? Bates? Steiner? Someone else? I've checked YT, of course, but they seems to offer only the mylar NON-die-cut ones. Thanks. David

Yep, same place as ever. It was in Bloomsburg again, but I have no idea where it might be next year. I saw none of the old gang at Bloomsburg, if they were there, I missed them.

Hi David, The 2020 RPRU is in Huron, South Dakota on June 25 - June 27. If planning to attend you need to hop on some room reservations as motels and hotels are limited in close vicinity of Huron. There are lots available in Mitchell, to the south and Brookings, to the east both of which are about 50 miles from the show site.
When I restored my Super C in 2010 I obtained my die-cut decals from Maple Hunter and they were easy to apply and still look like new.
Hope all is going well as I haven't seen you since the 2006 (Mansfield, Ohio) and the 2008 (Columbia, Missouri) RPRU's.
