I have an International B250 which has a Front End Loader on it.

I have fitted a Post Hole Digger on the 3 Point Linkage on it and I am using a double acting hydraulic ram to assist the digger go into the ground.

To feed oil to the ram I have fitted couplings on the tilting of the bucket control so that I can plug in either the tilting of the bucket or the ram for the post hole digger.

I had a ram set up for the digger which worked, but I found a different double acting ram that would be more suitable for the purpose.

After I swapped the hoses from one ram to the next; when I tested it, it would not work.

I checked all of the controls and attempted to operated the 3PL as well and nothing worked.

Does anyone have any idea as to why this is happening and what should I be doing to get everything to operate again?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply and No I didn't.

When I removed the hose from the original ram that was working there was some oil lost and the replacement ram was empty so what you have said makes sense.

I will check and make sure it is full and see what happens.

Hi, did you check the hydraulic fluid level? Those B250s did not have a very large hydraulic reservoir and if you connected an empty remote cylinder it could empty the reservoir.

Today's Featured Article - Product Review - by Staff. When we finally checked out the 3000 PSI North Star, the whole story chaned. This unit was equipped with an 11 HP Honda engine with fuel shutoff, adjustable flow and optional syphon degreaser dispenser. It didn't have a pressure release or electric start to facilitate easy starting but according to the instructions, simply pulling on the trigger while cranking was sufficient. This method of starting proved more than adequate and kept the cost down on the unit. It had all the important ... [Read Article]
