I have a few questions hoping someone can help me. I am new to the tractor world and bought this industrial tractor. I have ordered a manual that im waiting on to come in, but in the mean time I was hoping someone can tell me what all fluids are that need checked? I know where the oil is, and the hydraulic fluid goes but nothing else.

Second thing is it has a PTO on it and i can shut it on and off, but I have read that these tractors the PTO may not work for brush hogging? Can someone explain this to me and how I could tell if it would work or not?[/img]

i know about the row crops and the 2504 is close to the same. the first thing take the cup off the oil bath air cleaner and clean out the gunk and
fill to the line with fresh engine oil. the transmission takes hytran. the oil level plug is on the left side on a line that goes to the transmission
it is a 1/8 inch pipe plug. as for the pto since it turns off the plates and disks are not warped and should work.when you get your manual it will
tell you how to set the clutch so it doesnt slip. it calls for a special tool but you can make one out of a small rod or key stock. i wouldnt go over
5 foot for a bush hog those engines dont have a lot of torque. my dads 504 never ran a bush hog but we did run a medium size square baler with a bale
thrower on it and some times ground ear corn with it and never had any trouble with the pto it still has the original clutch pack from 1966 . just
start the load slow and once the bush hog gets up to speed take it slow.

Thanks for the information, I did confirm that my PTO works, my neighbor has a 7ft hog and I tested it with his. I would say the 7ft was a little heavy for the tractor but it seemed to cut just fine. I currently have 6ft that I just purchased but have not hooked up yet. It appears I have a hydraulic leak under the tractor. it is the bottom side by where the shifter and the plug is you referred to. Have you ever changed that? I was winding how difficult it is and if I can use the gasket maker or if I need to buy the replacement?

Thanks again for your information.
