Farmall 230 Rear Wheel Adjust

I wanted to adjust in the rear wheels on my 230 Farmall. The weights came off first to easily access the 4 clamp collar bolts. Is there a trick to loosing the 4 clamp bolts that hold the collar to the axle? I sprayed with WD40 and tried the impact wrench and they did not budge.

WD40 is a water displacement stuff and not a very good oil for what your needing to do. I find ATF in a pumper oil can and some heat works better then any thing around

We had a wrench that you could slide a pipe 4 foot long on to loose those bolts. You want them tight but not breaking stuff tight. If the weights are put on correctly they do not need to be off to loosen those bolts either. We used to move the wheels every time we put the cultivator on so they never got rusted too tight.

Good penetrating oil not wd40. Let them soak a couple of days then a 1/2" breaker bar and an impact socket and maybe a pipe on the breaker bar.
Good luck.
