Hello all new member 1rst post....brief bio: location mid gulf coast FL. due to a recent, well, impluse purchase of a MF 135 diesel, not sure yet but think maybe 1966 model. I find myself with 4 tractors and have agreed to part with two of them...I have only 11 ac. don't farm and after 30 years property is clear enough, also should mention not much of a mechanic.I have a 1960 British B-275 and a mid-60's JD 2010. the 2010 runs, barely, long story..the B-275 however runs great but suffers from what I call weeps and leaks. The injector pump, from reading think it must be a des cav inline, leaks at the fuel shutoff fitting and possibly other places as well so I ask; does the pump likely require a complete rebuild or just new seals if that is a possibity. regarding fuel pump I have encountered a number of times the phrase "missing 1960/must include" it sounds ominous, can anyone fill me in on this? on the hydraulic housing there are 2 leaks one at the small adjustment handle (not sure but response control?) the other leak is at the bottom bolt that holds this unit to the hydraulic reservoir. Is there a manufactured gasket available for this or do I have to make a gasket.. if so does anyone know what gasket thickness material is required? On items such as o-rings are they metric on a Brit made tractor? I plan to order a service/parts manual soon in the meantime if anyone have thoughts on this post I appreciate the help! THX Dan

regarding your inline injector pump, yes, you can get just the seals needed and install them. The hard part is finding someone to do it, because if the pump is taken to a regular service shop, they will never charge you less than a full rebuild. The reasons they give are many and varied, but the answer is always the same. Your best bet is to find a tech who does pumps on the side. On the other hand, a fully reconditioned pump comes with a warranty. Find out exactly what is covered and for how long. This will probably run you $500-plus.

I put many new seals plus four new fuel plungers in mine 3-4 years ago. Also a new air-governor diaphragm. Never had to take the pump-box
off the engine.

When I did it, all the parts were available in England from a guy named Peter Slater. CAV in-line four-barrel pump not all that common here
in the USA. Very simple pump-box to work on.

Mr. Maurer, thx for the information. In my area there is very little agriculture since orange groves have died out over the years, consequently tractor repair shops/techs are in short supply.
Still, I will pursue the possibilitys further...though at roughly $500 to repair or replace the fuel pump best option may be to sell as is... .the leak is marginal runs great so I keep a bucket under it. I have the better part of another B-275, engine, main frame with transmission still in it, front end etc. these parts have been outside for many years would like to know if they might still be of value...do need to know if O rings in a Brit made tractor are metric or standard....thx much danc

thx your reply, not being common parts likely explains the phrase :missing Brit made tractor" I keep running into....Been wondering if I could take of the top of pump and just put a new seal/o ring where it leaks the most, at the fuel shutoff post. which is why I ask if the parts you refer to are metric or standard, I'm guessing metric? As stated earlier I'm no mechanic, but would consider the above repair esespecially if not essential to remove the pump....thx again for very helpful post....just getting started with this project doing homework etc.
