Re farmall M rear remotes

I have a 1945 farmall M with a belly pump and a distributor pump, I want to put a 2 spool valve on it to run both functions of my haybine " the up and down and the swing in and out"and I have no idea how to do this task. Could anyone please help me try to figure this out. Keep in mind I'm have very little knowledge of hydraulics and I need simple terms, pictures would help a lot aswell. Thank you for any help !!!!!!!

From the pump you need to go to your valve with the hose then from the valve to your tank then a hose from tank to pump. the tank to pump should be a size larger than the pressure lines.
Your valves can be a stacked type or double with one block 2 levers or a joy stick type depending on what you choose. Lots of places to buy them at.
We used to have a single valve on the light bracket between the light and the throttle lever on our H for lifting the buzz saw and snow plow.
With the belly pump go from the pressure port to the valve then from valve to fill hole on the belly pump. Tie the lift lever back with a bale twine for oil flow to your valve.

Do a Google (or you tube) search for ?hydraulic circuit? and you will find the exact info you need.

Have you purchased the two spool valve , your going to have to mount that on the tractor where it's handy. On the valve it should be marked IN and Out,The pressure line goes in the IN side, and the out goes back to the tank. The top is for the lines that go to the remotes!! Put a good pipe dope on the threads, Teflon tape is to cumberson !

I like to mount the valve on the deck behind my right heel. I extend the handles to be easy to reach.Run pressure hose to 'in' port on valve. Return hose to reservoir. If valve has a 'float' position.Use that spool on the 3 point. Hook so the 3 point can float while down and working. Down pressure is (usually) not your friend.

If you have a distributor pump you need to explain what that system looks like. Do you already have one set of implement remotes? It could be a simple as replacing a single valve with a double. Also do you have a 3 point on it? That will complicate thing a little more but still doable.

Here's my M with a 2spool valve. I removed the belt drive and added an extended plate to cover the opening and mount the valve to.

Ok, first thing you need to do is make sure the valve you buy is OPEN CENTER. I also highly recommend looking for a valve that has "NPT" style ports, as that is the most common type and easiest to find fittings for.

Mount the valve in a comfortable/convenient location as you see fit, but make sure to leave room for hoses and fittings.

Run a hose from ANY of the three ports on the side of the belly pump (commonly the one on the right side) to the IN port on the new valve. Plug the other two ports.

Run a hose from the OUT on the new valve back to the fill pipe under the gas tank.

The valve has four "work" ports on top, two for each function. Simply run hoses from these ports to the rear of the tractor, and terminate them in standard female Pioneer quick couplers. I recommend the "breakaway" style as shown in onefarmer's first picture below.

To operate the system, lock the belly pump lever back so it is providing oil to the new valve all the time. Operate the valve to perform the desired functions.

A word of caution: With a reservoir filled to the top, the first time you lower your haybine, which is lifted with a one-way cylinder, you will probably end up with an overflow of oil. Unless you park your haybine with the cylinder lowered, then no problem.
