Farmall Cub

This has probably been asked before, but I am not sure what to look under for in the archives. A co-worker has a 1947 Farmall Cub. He is wondering if the decal had McCormick-Deering on it or just McCormick? Also, can someone enlighten me as to when and why International stopped using McCormick-Deering? I know I have heard it before, but cannot remember the complete history of the subject.

From modest research, the decals were phased out as new OEM were sourced with McCormick only from 1948/49 Jim

The Deering was dropped about mid 1949. "McCormick-Deering" was in use in US for IHC farm equipment from about 1923 though some exports were "Deering" and some were "McCormick". To New Zealand it was always "McCormick-Deering" until the 1949 change. Non agricultural equipment was normally International

I am also confused on the "MCCormick-Deering" verses "McCormick" decal. I recently purchased a 1952 Farmall Super A from the daughter and son in law of the original owner. The dad had bought it new, and they gave me a copy of the original sales contract when it was bought from the IH dealer. Serial number is 334xxx, so it checks out for a 1952. They also gave me a reprint of a black and white photo of it that they said was taken in 1955 or 1956. The decal on the side of the hood in the picture is "McCormick Deering" with "IH Farmall". I wonder how that could be, as it should be "McCormick"?

They (McCormick Deering decals) were used up through September 1949. I have an all original 1949 Cub that I rescued and the last casting dates are the first week of September 1949. If you look on the Farmall Cub Forum website you can see the database and numerous discussions on the subject where Cubs are corcerned.
