IH 2000 Loader filter cap leaking

The filter cap is leaking on my Dad's IH 444 with IH 2000 loader.

I figured I would make a new seal for the cap, but upon further inspection the seal has a very small I.D. and it almost seems like I'd have to drill out spot welds put in a new seal and weld the cap back together, that seems crazy? Simply can't just pull out the seal and put in a new one.

It also seems like there is a Belleville disc spring behind the seal, maybe that is worn out.

I have a parts book for the loader, the cap part number is 476764R91. Not finding anything when I google...

The Messick's website seems to indicate this can still be ordered from CIH.

It's a toll-free call to find out!

Hmm, well you removed the "R" from the part number. That 47676491 is called a "support", not a "cap".

I supposed I will ask them. Thanks.

HMMM, I didn't remove the "R", the "search" function on the Messick's site did that.

I should have caught it, though!

I hate when online algorithms modify my search criteria... I dislike the days of autocorrect as well. Get off my lawn!
