IH2150 is what most folks use. A little brighter red I think than 50, but you can get 2150 at most any Case-IH dealer, and it is good paint.

What rustyfarmall said. If you are looking for quality, I would just waver a little bit on the shade, and go with
something you can get from Case IH. You would about have to park side by side next to something to notice any
shade difference. Might as well have the better quality paint.

I likewise painted a couple tractors years ago. Was disappointed at how the paint held up. I even primed and put
on 2 coats of paint. I just used some cheap paint (right color) from a Wheeler's store, what is now days
Orschlen's. Gas and antifreeze spills would mess it up almost instantly. Never could wax it worth a darn. It sure
didn't take much for it to fade from sun light. And it didn't really even hang on to decals very well. Been kind
of disappointed in the paint. Especially after going to all that work sand blasting and everything. They did look
nice for a couple three years, but it was down hill from there even keeping them in the shed most of the time.

Rust-Oleum is awful close to 50 as you will find. It does hold up excellent but al all paint jobs prep is the key. I sand blast then finish sanding use primer and sand also then final and it has held up just fine

Bass, Here is a picture of a plow I just finished with IH 2150 red, IH 901 white, IH Gloss Black, and Van Sickle IH Blue. It came out very well. Prep is the
key. All parts were wire brushed and/or flap disced on 4 1/2 inch grinder, then sandblasting followed by wipe down with a wax and grease remover, followed by
two coats of IH buff (yellow) primer and then two coats of IH 2150 red or other color. The white is from a spray gun; the others are with a brush with some
Flood Penetrol mixed in and a hint of hardener purchased at the local CIH dealer. I much prefer to purchase all products from the same supplier to insure
products compatibility. I could supply more pictures of other projects but same procedure, same products used with similar results. The steel wheels are
protected with pieces of tractor tire inner tubes until the plow reaches its final resting place.

Go get you some 2150 from the IH dealer, about 50 bucks a gallon 6 or eight years ago, goes on nice.

The last time I saw my 504, the paint was 15 years old and looked great. It was a working tractor
that spent some time outside. IH 2150

Hey Wes that plow is beautiful. I have 2 three-bottom plows with slats to paint up like that. How far did you disassemble it to get it prepped?

After studying yours I'm sure itching to drag them out and get going on them!

If you got the "Majic" paint from TSC, that's garbage.

They do carry Rustoleum now too, at least in my area. If you are having problems with that, you did something wrong.

No paint is going to hold up and look like new forever if the tractor is left outside.

Every piece was taken apart, cleaned with a wire cup brush and/or flap disc on a 4 1/2 inch grinder, and then sand blasted. After sand blasting all parts were cleaned with a wax and grease remover, followed by two coats of IH buff primer, and two coats of IH 2150 red, etc. The white wheels were painted with a spray gun; all red, blue, and black parts were painted with a brush with a little Flood Penetrol mixed in and a little hardener in the final color coat. All new bolts were used when assembling. This plow will sit outside so I went through the extra effort to clear coat it after painting. Generally I paint backwards if you will. The red pieces will be the first needed when assembling so they get painted last and go directly from the paint rack to the assembly line if you will.

PPG single stage urethane "Farmall Red" IH#50, over PPG epoxy primer, Soda blasted, cleaned with PPG metal cleaner, prepped with PPG metal prep. The red paint was $800 a gallon
