I was using the F230 to back blade on the driveway this week and after working it for an hour or two, I had the sense it was losing power. No noises, no smoke, no skipping or stuttering - nothing to make me think it was a fuel/carb problem. Just that feeling that "something was a bit off".
It does not get worked hard, generally snow pushing duty. It has always run with the oil pressure slightly low; but still registering on the gauge. ([i:21d5b6cfd7]0-75 gauge, 45-60 at start up and operates at 15[/i:21d5b6cfd7])
I ran 5-10 more minutes and checked the oil pressure. It was not registering. I dropped the blade in the yard and pulled the tractor into the barn (not more than 100 ft).
Oil level was at the full mark both hot and cold. No radiator fluid or hytran in the oil either. And no contaminants in the radiator. No oil leaks from the engine when I stopped it and nothing a day later.
My first step will be to check/replace the oil pump gasket after truing up the bottom plate. Second will be to check the compression.
Beyond that, what are your thoughts to low power?
