First thing is does anyone no how to get sleeves for d-281. Also I think I may go with d-264 sleeves since there thicker and better. I pulled 2 thin sleeves out because they had cracks but haven't been able to find replacements. Now I recently found out the parent bores in the block are .010 wider from side to side than from front to back so the thin sleeves will just follow the out of round. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hey jhncp
I put 264 sleeves in mine because I wanted it to last
You are only going to loose 1-2 hp anyway
I got my piston and sleeves from Weber s I think
They were original nos
Good luck

Regardless, what sleeves you'r going to use, you should bore the dry block out so there at least round,i had a 327 chev that was out of round holes in it, it was nothing but trouble, talk to a machinist, or some one might chime in here !

I currently have a NOS set of 4? bore pistons & sleeves
available for the SMD thru 450D with 0.010 oversize sleeves

First off you need fix the parent bores
that arent round so you dont crack the ne
sleeves then worry about finding new
sleeves. The block in my super mta (d264
with d281 sleeves) had messed up parent
bores and the original NOS sleeves wouldnt
fit tight. We ended up boring it to 4.2585
and had a set of 4.260 custom heavy duty
Ductile iron sleeves made, i went with
ductile because its alot stronger, wont
wear as fast and will tolerate heat better
the the regular sleeves. I built this
tractor to be worked and last another 65+
years.
