424 distributor

I bought a new distributor from Cross Creek and it works fine other than having a metric size grease fitting hole with a plug .No one carries correct grease fitting . I do not want to tap it and was considering rebuilding the old one which had slop in the shaft . Would I NEED TO PRESS THE BEARINGS/ BUSHINGS OUT ? I have never played with one and was wondering what might be involved and tools I would need .

Yes Bob , really. They do not have the correct size metric fitting. I went online and then called them. I will check size again as the old guy st NAPA used the sizing gauge and told me what size and thread to check for.
