M vs 656 3pt

I just got a 656 with only draw bar. I have a M that I put 3 point
on. Believe brand was a Steiner or signaw?! I?d like to get 3 pt
on my new 656. From research, one from M should fit it also.
True? I?d really like to find another so both equipped. Anyone
got more recommendations for 3pts or got one for sale that
will fit??? Thanks.

A 656 3 point was available from the factory. Were it mine, I would go that direction. Pretty intense effort would be needed to get and install all parts to allow real draft control, ut it would be the best. Bates equipment in Bourbon Indiana, would be my first call. A Saginaw or Worksaver would be fine but not have draft control. Jim

504 lift unit with upper link sensing might bolt on,too. I would believe it to be a less invasive conversion (but not by much). You will still need second pump and tubing, hydraulic castings, etc. Lower link mounting will be simplified if 504 brackets bolt up and are external to rear end. Otherwise a bolt on fixture could be fabricated with limitations in mind when operating--i.e. no sub soiling.
A donor tractor will be best as there are all kinds of little things to make it right and complete. Don't forget a drawbar and bracketry as 3 point tractors are different than horseshoe set up.
Also a fast hitch setup can be made into 3 pint easily. Parts might be cheaper depending on demand in your area...
I saw a nice low hour 656 on mn Craigslist recently with drawbar only. It was sweet! I like the 3 point model I have, too.

I?m mainly gonna use tractor for bush hog and loader on front. (Wide front) Won?t be plowing or anything major with it. That?s why was thinking bolt on fixture be the most simple and easiest setup vs factory options as whole top plate and stuff would be more work than worth what I?m gonna use it for.
