560 FARMALL diesel glow plugs

I have a 560 FARMALL diesel with the 282 and I need the part number for the glow plugs and the push
button switch. If I remember right someone has found an alternative for the ih ones.

You can get them from Steiner tractor Parts. They have both the glow plugs and the glow plug meter. They were used on several models of IH motors in that era. Their is nothing special about the ones used in the 560Ds. I've used their glow plugs a couple of different times with no problems. I've seen no difference between them and the ones from IH. hope this helps, john

I thought I had copied a response to your question, with the part# for Ford glow plugs that supposedly heated up faster or better. But I can't find it in my computer. hopefully someone with the info will chime in. I remember you had to retap the threads.

I thought you could substitute 7.3 ford/ih glow plugs.Mark.

The Ford motorcraft part # is ZD-11 less than $12 at my local autozone. and yeas they are a metric thread but a very easy job of re-threading. Just stop short of the top so that they seat! You will wonder why in the heck you didn't do it year before!!!!!

Realize the glow plug seats at the tapered end to seal combustion. If you try to seal at upper threads, lord help you try to get it out again after a few hours of use.
