IH 140 cylinder head weight?

Trying to figure a strategy to get a complete cylinder head from a C123 engine (1968) to the machine shop.

Can I lift and carry it? Also can I leave the manifold attached and let the shop remove it (and reinstall)?

I changed the head gasket 10 yrs ago but didn't resurface the head. I just found water in the oil again and think this time I want to take the head to the shop. I used a winch and a boom pole to lift it last time but would like to avoid setting all that up again if possible.

don't know if you can lift it. but I can , those are small heads. I lift and carry the 282 head. machine shop wants only bare head. extra work extra charge.

If you are finding oil when you crack the drain plug after setting all winter. It is probably just condensation. I would go run it several hours working so it gets up to temperature, then see if it has water in the oil. If you don't get water again right away don't worry about it .

Get the manifold off. When I did mine all but one bolt came out with nothing but a wrench. Should have heated the last one but all the rest came easy.

If you can heat the nuts red hot before trying to remove them they'll come off.

Also consider that the o-rings on the bottoms of the sleeve could be leaking and getting coolant in the oil. I have seen the o-rings to be the cause of coolant in the oil just as many if not more times than the head gasket leaking.
