International 424 hydraulic

How much hydraulic fluid you put in it and how do you know when it?s full is there a plug somewhere or someone tell me cause I?m new to it.

Hi, does your 424 have a loader with front pump? If so see the link 444 Loader Front Pump.
If no loader then there is a pipe plug behind the seat on top of hydraulic housing just above top link, remove pipe plug and look in the hole, you should see a shelf in there and correct fluid level is when the shelf is covered. Use CIH Hytran or equivalent hydraulic oil.

And do not confuse what is meant by a " front pump " The pump mounted on the front right hand side [ passenger ] side beside the governor is NOT a front pump . Confusion about this has caused me and many others to drastically overfill the transmission . I realize the question was about hydraulic fluid rather than transmission fluid but since there are two separate systems on this tractor it can be confusing . Transmission and hydraulic fluid are separate on the 424 .
