I just finished rebuilding the governor for my 1953 Super C. I had the engine completely rebuilt and it has not yet run since it returned from the machine shop. Before I install the governor, would it be worthwhile to install a removable NPT pipe plug (or something) to use as a way to occasionally add lubrication to the governor assembly, or is this unnecessary and/or just a waste of time? Does the governor get enough lubrication from the splash coming from the camshaft and governor gears? What would be a good lube to use on the internal parts for the initial installation?
Thanks,BillB
