Is there a trick to get the oil filter cup to fit snugly to the breather? It's a 1955 Farmall 100 with a Donaldson type breather unit. It didn't have a cup when I bought it, and I was able to obtain a salvage replacement. It's loose when I tighten the clamp all the way down. I do get a better grip when I flip the clamp over, but it's still loose.

"100" used a Donaldson or United Specialties oil bath air cleaner, and I don't know if cups might switch between them but not fit well?

Do you know for sure yours is the Donaldson version? (I don't know how one would tell the difference?)

Also, some versions used a gasket between the cup and upper unit.

The parts image shows mine as a Donaldson. The other version, United Specialities, the oil cup has an insert and the diagram does show a gasket. I bought mine from JP Tractor Salvage and told him it was a Donaldson, so I assume he knows the difference. I did accidently buy a United Specialities cup and it wouldn't fit properly, but I didn't try a gasket.
