Farmall H or M PTO option

I have never seen an M without PTO,but I am quite sure one could be ordered without it.Just as a 400 could be had/ordered without LPTO and TA.

Belt pulley and swinging drawbar were also options. The default wheels were steel and in the early ones the default fuel was distillate.

Thanks to the replies so far. Is there any literature that backs this up? Looking for a stock cover plate for the H and M. Is there a parts book that shows an original cover plate?

I've been told that the cover for the steering bolster will also fit the PTO opening.

The literature you are seeking would be the official Farmall H and Farmall M parts catalog. Reproductions are available.

My 42 H never had a pto and has the original block off plate. It's kind of hard to see in this pic. I will try to take another one soon.

I know for a fact that the gaskets will interchange but I don't think the pto block off plate will work on the bolster because it is flat and does not have the hump in the middle.

I never said the 2 were the same. I said the bolster cover would work on the PTO.

I don't have an H parts book close but an M most definitely uses the same part for the top bolster cover as a PTO delete cover plate and yes it has a bump in the middle.

according to my 1951 price list a PTO attachment listed out at $33.25
one option I found funny is the fast 4th-7 mph ( from factory ) $4.25

I have been going through the very detailed notes my grandfather kept on his 1934 F12. When he decided to sell it in February 1941, IHC costs for a new Farmall H (Serial Number FBH 37511) in Australia were: 404, plus power take off 3:15s, plus drawbar (swinging) 1:15s, giving a total of 409:10s. The F12 was traded for 115, giving a total of 294:10s.

Here is a diagram of the pto cover plate and gasket. The page is from the Farmall AM book. Same as for Farmall M. The A stands for 'Australian'.
