The German Bosch pump is leaking fuel out of the throttle shaft. It's getting bad. Still runs and starts fine, but drips every minute or so.Is there a seal I can replace myself? or do I need to pull the pump and send it off? Steve

The wise thing to do is to reseal the complete pump. I stopped doing "patch jobs" years ago as other leaks would show up soon after. Last Bosch VA pump I did recently was from a 574, long as engine starts OK with a HOT pump hydraulic head is good. About five years ago had a 574 pump sent from Hawaii, as it needed the housing bushings replaced and sized. Nobody on the island had the tools to repair it. Bosch has almost no hard parts available for the VA AR, BR, and CR versions anymore, so if a critical internal parts is damaged/broken, good luck finding another one.

I am not sure if it is just luck or what, but I see about one VA style pump a month. Still a ton of them out there, just no replacement parts new. I always tell guys to take care of that pump and it will out last you. Make sure it has fresh filters and no water, reseal when they leak. These are fairly inexpensive things to do in comparison to trying to replace a pump no longer built or supported by Bosch. I am working on a bolt on replacement for guys who have a pump beyond repair. Al

To answer the question.. NO, its not something u can do yourself.
UNLESS, u have Bosch VA experience.
& to be done correctly, the pump needs to come off the machine.
& you'll have a hard time finding anyone willing to fix JUST the throttle leak..
cuz you'll be pulling it off again for another leak somewhere else.
