Owning 11 of the old Farmalls I always read threads here related to my models because you never know when someone else's problem is now my problem. Happened on my A this spring. There was a tread recently
about adjusting the bumper adjustment on a A governor because it was hunting as the I &T manual calls it and also mentioned the spring could be broken. Turns out my A was doing the same thing this spring when
I get it running from sitting over the winter. I tried adjusting the bumper adjustment and nothing changed. I took out the adjuster and the last couple of coils of spring fell out. The remainder was glued into
the adjuster. Obviously I ordered a new spring. Maybe I would have come to this point on my own but having read it here first was a big help. There is no way to put a value on sites like this if you own any of
the old tractors but aren't a trained mechanic on them.
