What color would you recommend for the exhaust manifold, tractor color or a grey high heat paint?

Unless you have it ceramic coated, it will be red and rusty brown is an hour. No paint will work no matter what the can says. Jim

I used black BBQ paint on mine. Looks pretty good.

NOT sure what "look" you are trying to achieve?

When it left the factory the exhaust manifold was painted with the same basic (cheap?) IH red paint the rest of tractor was painted with, and the paint on the exhaust manifold quickly burned off when placed into service/under load, leaving a pretty much bare cast iron manifold that soon developed a rusty "patina".

Are you looking to somehow improve upon that?

What do the "correct police" desire?

I've painted with east woods high heat before, did burn off after a while. This one i'm restoring to original so i may paint it tractor color. thanks for the replies.

That would be correct. The manifold would have received some red paint at the factory, as the rest of the tractor was being painted.
