Looking for a wagon/trailer to tow behind my 48 Super A

I ve been looking for a small wagon/trailer for my 48 Super A. I don t have a three point hitch, just the standard drawbar. I m looking for suggestions so I can use it to haul small amounts of wood/brush, cedar posts and fertilizer around. Thanks in advance

An old pickup box trailer would do nicely.Or any small single axle utility trailer would also be acceptable.

Take a look at the ones offered by Tractor Supply, Lowes, Home Depot, and similar. See if one of them will meet your needs. They are cheap enough, and the tires are new.

Yes, think a 2-wheel cart would be easier to maneuver than a 4-wheel wagon. Something in the 3000 to
5000# range. I pull a 3000# capacity Pronovost P-503 tandem axle dump cart with a Cub Cadet with no
problems, used to pull 5500# of ground hog feed in our Heider augers wagon home from town 2-3 times a
week all spring, summer, and fall, behind a '39 H or '54 Super H. Pulled 10,000+# loads of ear corn from
all over the farm up to the corn crib and unloaded them with the same two tractors.

Your Super A should be fine for 3000 to 5000#. I'd error on the bigger side than the frustration of too
small of a trailer, you can always haul half a load in a big trailer but once a little cart is full you
have to unload it.

You could maybe put a 1 7/8 or 2 inch ball in the drawbar, and use one of the small 4-foot utility trailers they have at places like Tractor Supply. Those would be easy to move around, and easy to back up to things.

Hey! That's a great idea!

All good points, I wasn t even thinking of a ball hitch for the drawbar. I ll just swap the pin for the ball hitch when I need to use the trailer vs. chain. Chain has been working wonders helping me clear my woods out.

Careful.......

If you get a heavy trailer and put a heavy load on it, does your tractor have adequate brakes to slow it
down & stop it ? Especially if your land is hilly ?
