What are the possible problems?

Volt meter drops to 12v, the red trans oil light comes on and the alarm sounds.

All three at the same time. Its an on/off issue, sometimes onoff somtimes on for a long time.

I'm at a loss where to start looking. Can the dash be sent to Ag Express and be checked out?

I would suspect a bad ground connection in the plug to the back of the gauge panel. They usually share a common ground, and your symptoms point that way. The plug connector may just have tarnish on it. Mark.

Would a bad ground cause the volt meter to drop to 12v?

What and where is the sensor that this light is controlled by?

When this compination of light, alarm and volt meter show a problem to look at the volt meter it is telling me that theres a large voltage draw or short, yet this is the best starting tractor on this farm.

TIA.

No need to send that to Ag express, it's just regular gauges and lights underneath. The data center on the other side of the column, if equipped, is what you'd send out.

12V to me says the alternator has stopped charging, which could be a ground, or the alternator itself.

In your pic it looks like the volt meter is below 12v. In my experience, the bad ground is only to the dash panel when you have this symptom. Mark.

I put the volt meter on the battery while the engine was running and had a 14.98 consistant reading.

Where is the ground for the dash?

It would be in the plug to the dash panel. It would connect to a terminal in the dash plug that ,if you trace it, would connect to several, if not all, the gauges and idiot lights. Mark.
